Cyberattack on Penn State exposes passwords of 18K people - CNET

"Pennsylvania State University's College of Engineering revealed Friday that it has been the target of two "highly sophisticated" cyberattacks over the last two years.

University President Eric Barron issued an apology Friday that said usernames and passwords from more than 18,000 people may have been accessed. However, investigators did not find evidence that credit card and social security numbers were stolen, Barron said. Another statement from the school said a security company hired by the university to investigate the attacks concluded that at least one of the assaults originated from China."

The Big Unanswered Questions

"With this abundance, arguments stemming from our understanding of the origin of light elements in the Big Bang imply that this material cannot be made of normal matter, i.e. matter comprised of protons, neutrons and electrons, the building blocks of all atoms. Without knowing the identity of dark matter, attempts to detect it directly on earth require making some educated guesses about what it might be. However, there is at least the possibility of detecting it directly! Such detection could reveal not only the nature of what makes up the dominant matter in the universe, but also could tell us something fundamental about elementary particles and forces."
